The collection consists of a variety of papers, mostly manuscript, relating to the early history of Mort & Co., and some of the firms associated with T. S. Mort's other business activities, such as Laidley Ireland & Co., Bogarella Co-operative Association, Australian Investment Co. Ltd. There are some personal accounts of Henry Mort, with the firm of Mort & Co. There are three series of accounts of Mort & Co. (old firm) Mort & Co. (new firm) and Mort & Co. Ltd. There are also copies of letters re negotiations for the amalgamation with R. Goldsbrough & Co. in 1888.

Artist. Eirene Mort undertook art and craft studies at schools in England on two overseas trips she made in 1897 and 1909. On her return to Australia Mort exhibited her own work and became a founder of the Society of Arts and Crafts of New South Wales. She was vice-president until 1935. She was also involved in the Australian Exhibition of Women's Work in 1907.
